Job Description

We're seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Indirect Tax Project Analyst to support the implementation, onboarding, and testing of indirect tax systems within a broader finance transformation initiative. This role combines project management with deep tax expertise, playing a key role in deploying and validating new technology solutions for indirect tax.

ResponsibilitiesOversee the integration and setup validation of indirect tax platforms (e.g., Vertex, DRC), ensuring consistent logic across global entities.Collaborate with internal tax teams, IT, and external partners to review specifications, align data structures, and confirm jurisdictional accuracy.Perform structured system testing to evaluate tax rate accuracy, billing behavior, and exception handling.Contribute to final-stage testing, including user acceptance, system stability assessments, and post-implementation reviews.Coordinate project timelines, testing protocols, and issue resolution for the indirect tax workstream within a broader transformation initiative.Track cross-functional deliverables and dependencies across Tax, IT, Finance, and consulting teams.Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and project managers, highlighting key risks and decision points.Maintain comprehensive documentation of testing results, system issues, and remediation actions to ensure transparency and auditability.Assist in designing and refining tax workflows, compliance controls, and system integration points with financial and operational platforms.Support the creation of procedural documentation, training materials, and onboarding resources for end users.Analyze existing tax data processes to identify opportunities for improvement in billing, compliance, and reporting.Serve as a liaison between tax subject matter experts and technical teams during solution design and implementation.Participate in vendor discussions and configuration reviews to ensure alignment with international tax regulations.Contribute to organizational readiness efforts, promoting smooth transitions and stakeholder engagement during system rollouts.Essential SkillsProven expertise in VAT (Value Added Tax), BD, and GST, with practical experience in both compliance and consulting.Demonstrated success working with or advising large, multinational corporations, beyond small or local business environments.Strong project management capabilities; Scrum Master certification and familiarity with project management tools are considered valuable assets.Additional Skills & QualificationsProven experience in contract-based roles, demonstrating adaptability and effectiveness in dynamic environments.Strong familiarity with SAP; experience with other major ERP systems is also highly beneficial.3–5+ years of direct involvement in indirect tax, including exposure to global VAT/GST and U.S. sales and use tax frameworks.Solid understanding of indirect tax configuration and application within enterprise platforms such as SAP and Oracle.Participated in or supported the implementation of tax technology solutions and enterprise-wide finance transformation projects.Well-versed in corporate tax compliance processes and audit readiness standards.Exceptionally organized with keen attention to detail and a strong focus on project execution.Hands-on experience with Vertex O Series or comparable tax automation tools.Familiarity with SAP DRC or similar platforms used for indirect tax reporting and documentation.Knowledgeable about digital tax mandates, including e-invoicing, real-time reporting, and electronic compliance systems.Possession of a project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM) is considered a strong asset.Work Environment

This is a remote role with first shift hours based in the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone.

This is a Contract position based out of NA, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $52.00/hr.
