Tax Manager
Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Manager in Boston, Massachusetts.

Work You’ll Do
Develop and implement tax planning initiative and strategies, including global effective tax rate reduction and efficient global cash utilization. Help multinational clients integrate tax planning into their overall business strategy and comply with both U.S. and international regulatory requirements. Lead consulting, tax planning, and compliance activities for U.S. and international tax engagements, including the direct review of complex U.S. and international tax workpapers, slide decks, tax research and tax returns. Perform engagement management duties, including creating the schedule for tasks to be completed, the budget of projects, and analyzing engaged economics. Review the quarterly and/or year-end U.S. international tax provision computations to support the federal and audit teams’ review of the U.S. tax provision of audit clients. Provide counseling, leadership, and guidance to the development and motivation of the engagement team. Take on lead client-contact roles, including meetings on compliance and advisory projects related to tax planning opportunities. Train, supervise, and mentor new and experienced Tax Consultants and Tax Seniors. Support projects, as needed, including administrative tasks, billing, requesting information from the client, and engagement set-up.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent)Three years of experience as a Tax Manager or related occupation gaining experience performing tax planning, reporting and compliance for U.S. multinational corporations.Experience must include three years of:

collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate Pillar 2 considerations into tax strategy, and compliance processes, including effective tax rate (ETR) calculations and data collection for GloBE and Safe Harbor reporting;assisting companies with international tax research and utilizing CCH, BNA, and RIA Checkpoint to research various U.S. federal income tax issues and analyze tax rules and regulations of foreign jurisdictions;evaluating international tax compliance for pass through partnership structures, including examination of K-1s and K-3s and related documentation, and reviewing footnotes and Forms 1065, 8865, and 8621;performing controlled foreign corporation (CFC) analysis and passive foreign investment company (PFIC) testing to determine appropriate filing requirements and U.S. federal income tax consequences;assisting companies with international tax consulting and planning by supporting upper management on various international tax issues, including Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, overall foreign loss, outbound transfer, and developing optimal tax structures for corporate restructuring, corporate reorganization, and mergers and acquisitions;conducting detailed analyses to determine and allocate ECI for foreign entities engaged in U.S. trade or business activities;assisting companies with international tax compliance for U.S. multinational corporations, preparing and reviewing Forms 1120-F, 5471, 8858, and 1118, and preparing associated disclosures and statements utilizing tax software, including Corptax and GoSystem; andpreparing clients’ work papers, including Subpart F, Foreign Tax Credit and PTEP analysis.
