**Job Description** Oracle India Tax team is looking to hire a Tax Director to provide leadership and oversight for the India Direct Tax Audit Line of Business, reflecting the growing scale, complexity, and risk profile of corporate tax, transfer pricing, and international tax matters across Oracle India entities and relevant foreign entities. The role will own end-to-end strategy and execution for direct tax and transfer pricing assessments, including review and sign-off of responses to notices, senior-level representation before tax authorities, and leadership of the full dispute and appellate lifecycle through the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), the Dispute Resolution Panel (DRP), the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, and further litigation support up to the High Court and Supreme Court. In addition, the position will lead case strategy development and counsel management, including preparation and review of briefs and steering discussions with external counsel for Appeals/High Court/Supreme Court matters, and will ensure strong internal governance through preparation for Key Process Controls (KPC) meetings and ongoing alignment discussions with headquarters (HQ) and other stakeholders. Hiring an M4-level Tax Director in India formalizes this leadership requirement, strengthens continuity on critical matters, and ensures the organization has the right level of decision-making authority and influence to manage risk and outcomes effectively. Reporting to the Tax leadership, the Tax Director will manage and coordinate internal and external resources to implement company tax savings strategies, ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns and manage tax team of managers and analysts. **Responsibilities** + Lead the India Direct Tax Audit and Controversy Line of Business, covering corporate tax, transfer pricing, and international tax. + Own overall audit, dispute, and litigation strategy for India direct tax and transfer pricing matters. + Review and sign off on responses to tax notices and information requests. + Represent Oracle at a senior level before Indian tax authorities. + Lead the full appellate lifecycle, from CIT(A) and DRP through ITAT and higher courts. + Develop case strategy, including risk assessments and litigation pathways. + Manage external counsel and advisors, including strategy and submissions review. + Oversee drafting of submissions, legal briefs, and technical analyses. + Partner with Finance, Legal, HR, M&A, and business teams to align facts and positions. + Analyze complex data and translate it into defensible tax positions. + Lead preparation for Key Process Controls (KPC) meetings and audit readiness. + Maintain alignment with global HQ and regional tax leadership. + Drive process improvements arising from audits and investigations. + Monitor changes in Indian and international tax laws and assess impact. + Provide tax input on business initiatives and M&A activity.
