How will you make an impact in this role?
This position, will be supporting the Tax Controversy Director in all tax controversy and tax compliance matters for all legal entities in Mexico
Responsibilities:
· This position will support and oversight certain tax compliance and tax accounting matters for both corporate income tax and Value Added Taxes prepared by a Center of Excellence and external resources with the support of a Tax Analyst.
· In addition, this position will manage all aspects of the statutory audit in coordination with the central tax accounting team and external providers (including annual tax provision and Dictamen Fiscal)
· Review of all corporate income/VAT returns, informative returns and the Dictamen Fiscal prepared by external resources. ·
· Work collaboratively with Tax Manager (Controversy and Audit) to jointly support all tax audits from the tax authority. ·
· Support central compliance and tax accounting teams in all internal audits relating to tax compliance and tax accounting as required ·
· Work collaboratively the tax advisory teams to align on the technical tax positions to be taken during tax authority and statutory audits.
Minimum Qualifications
· Accounting or law degree with a minimum 8+ years experience in taxes (At least 1 as a manager).
· At least 2 years of experience dealing with tax controversy and tax compliance matters.
· Experience in drafting responses to the tax authority (preferably for multinational companies).
· Experience in providing extensive audit support requirements specifically with respect to accounting and digital invoicing connectivity in support of all tax audits and controversies.
· Experience in reviewing and managing the Dictamen Fiscal process with external auditors.
· Strong understanding of Mexican GAAP and US GAAP tax accounting.
· Strong interpersonal skills, natural collaborator who can engage with multiple stakeholders.
· Microsoft Office skills including a strong capability in Excel and Power Point
· Advanced English, written and spoken (indispensable)
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with a Big 4 firm and/or multinational is preferred in the financial sector is preferred.
· Experience using AI within tax projects
