Tax Consultant – Indirect Tax Compliance
Overview
Seeking a Tax Consultant to support multi‑state sales and use tax compliance. This contract role involves preparing filings, maintaining exemption certificates, supporting audits, and working with leading tax technology platforms.
Key Responsibilities
+ Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across multiple states
+ Maintain exemption certificates and compliance documentation
+ Support sales and use tax audits and reverse audits
+ Configure and maintain tax engines (Vertex, Avalara, OneSource)
+ Collaborate with Accounting, Procurement, A/R, and IT on tax matters
+ Assist with system testing and process improvements
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
+ 5+ years of sales and use tax compliance experience
+ Multi‑state and indirect tax experience.
+ Experience with Vertex, Avalara, or OneSource
+ Strong Excel and data analysis skills
+ Dynamics 365 experience is a plus
Work Environment
+ Hybrid schedule: 3–4 days onsite, 1–2 days remote
+ South Norwalk location, 10‑minute walk from the train station

This is a Contract position based out of Norwalk, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
