Tax Consultant – Indirect Tax Compliance

Overview

Seeking a Tax Consultant to support multi‑state sales and use tax compliance. This contract role involves preparing filings, maintaining exemption certificates, supporting audits, and working with leading tax technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across multiple statesMaintain exemption certificates and compliance documentationSupport sales and use tax audits and reverse auditsConfigure and maintain tax engines (Vertex, Avalara, OneSource)Collaborate with Accounting, Procurement, A/R, and IT on tax mattersAssist with system testing and process improvements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of sales and use tax compliance experienceMulti‑state and indirect tax experience.Experience with Vertex, Avalara, or OneSourceStrong Excel and data analysis skillsDynamics 365 experience is a plus

Work Environment

Hybrid schedule: 3–4 days onsite, 1–2 days remoteSouth Norwalk location, 10‑minute walk from the train stationJob Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Norwalk, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
