Pay Range
$33.05 - $49.60Major Responsibilities:Prepares and files sales and use tax returns for multiple entities and jurisdictions.Prepares the annual sales and property tax exemption calculations and biennial tax exemption reports as required for the respective states.Assists with compiling the necessary workpapers and documents used to prepare the federal and state income tax returns for all system filings.Responds to ad-hoc requests, analysis and special tax projects, as needed.Assists with tax analysis of Alternative Investments.Performs tax research and analysis and document positions taken to support tax treatment.Monitors and assists with the calculation of tax depreciation.Responsible for maintenance and monitoring the various Department of Revenue sites and assists with all notices and internal inquiries.Assists with the coordination of federal and state audits, including income tax and sales and use tax audits.Within area of responsibility, maintains an effective system of internal controls that creates timely, accurate and complete financial reporting, promotes compliance with laws and regulations, and drives towards effective and efficient operations. Within area of responsibility, maintains accurate documentation of process flows, risks and key controls for each significant business process and sub-process.Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:None Required.
Education Required:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
Experience Required:Typically requires 2 years of experience in corporate tax or public accounting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:Demonstrated ability to produce high quality results and perform assigned tax activities in an independent manner.Self-motivated, results driven and detailed oriented.Strong analytical and communications skills, both verbal and written.Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel. Knowledge of CCH ProSystems desired.Ability to work effectively under pressure in a changing environment and manage multiple projects with short deadlines.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:May require lifting up to 10 lbs. occasionally. Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.Exposed to normal office environment.
