Tax Accountant
Job Title: Tax AccountantJob Description We are seeking a motivated Tax Accountant to join our high-performing tax team. In this role, you will play a vital part in preparing and reviewing key tax filings across multiple jurisdictions, supporting everything from sales and use taxes to income, franchise, and fuel tax reporting. Responsibilities + Prepare and review sales and use tax filings, and conduct research related to the taxability of purchases and sales in various jurisdictions. + Prepare refund claims and analyze driver miles and fuel for state fuel tax refund claims. + Prepare and/or review personal property tax returns, including analyzing information needed for these filings. + Compile and analyze information for the preparation of income and franchise tax returns. + Prepare state and local income and franchise tax estimates and returns. + Assist with tax audits and perform other related duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience. + One to two years of tax preparation or accounting experience preferred. + Experience with sales and use tax. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables. + Ability to meet deadlines and excellent written and oral communication skills. + Good organizational and self-review skills with a high degree of accuracy. + Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and tax preparation systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Transportation experience is a plus. + Experience with sales and use tax for one to two years is advantageous. Work Environment Join a team of 7 professionals with a lot of flexibility for personal appointments and family needs. Work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday. There are growth opportunities, with the potential to advance to a Senior Accountant role with 5-7 years of experience. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Omaha, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $80000.00/yr. tted to offering comprehensive and affordable options for you and your loved ones.
