About the Job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Tailor to join Jumeirah The Red Sea.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

Responsible for creating and fitting garments to individuals' body shapes, including tasks such as hemming, taking measurements, and adding buttons and zippers. 

Work closely with customers to understand their alteration needs, ensuring garments are altered or repaired according to their specifications. 

Measure guests and colleagues using tape measures, record measurements accurately, and complete alteration requests efficiently. 

Ensure all uniforms are kept in good repair, making necessary alterations or repairs to maintain quality and appearance. 

Repair or replace defective garment parts such as pockets, zippers, buttons, and linings, and process repairs for table linen, toweling, bath robes, and sheeting. 

Complete alterations using sewing machines, develop or adapt garment designs and patterns to fit measurements, and ensure correct fabric proportions. 

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

Hold a Higher Secondary School certificate or Diploma or Country specific certification. 

Have 1 – 2 years of experience within the same role in luxury hospitality environment. 

Demonstrates good interpersonal and communication skills, both in person and by telephone. 

Show strong attention to detail. 

Possess knowledge of basic geometry and simple arithmetic calculations to make draft patterns by calculating measurements of center back length, chest or any other body parts or fabric/garments as deemed necessary as per business requirements.
