Job Description

Join our team as a Systems Engineer and contribute to the evolution of a defense project. This role involves defining hardware and software requirements in collaboration with clients, focusing on networking, IP protocols, routing protocols, and systems management applications. The position requires a strong analytical mindset to translate requirements into use cases and work closely with development and integration teams to ensure seamless functionality.

Responsibilities

Provide system and product level design and support.Document system and subsystem requirements specifications, interface control documents, design documents, and use cases.Manage System Problem Reports (SPRs) and Observations by providing upfront analysis and input for bug fixes.Support integration and test activities, including reviewing test cases, analyzing results, and resolving discrepancies.Participate in meetings and reviews with internal teams and external stakeholders, presenting insights and recommendations.Take ownership of deliverables and contribute to meeting key program milestones and commitments.

Essential Skills

5-10 years of experience as a systems or integrations engineer.Experience working with networking protocols and products.Proficiency with requirements management tools such as DOORs, PTC Integrity Modeller, RTC, or RQM.Systems design requirements expertise (SysML).Strong communication skills with team members.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, or applicable scientific discipline.Experience with Ethernet communication networking, VLANs, and Internet Protocol (IP).Experience with RF communication and radio data characterization.Preferred knowledge of systems engineering tools including DOORS (Preferred DOORS Next Generation), Rational Team Concert (RTC), and UML/SysML.Knowledge of the system development process and lifecycles.Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.Willingness to learn new skills and take ownership of work.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with only 1 or 2 days per week required in the office. Our Client provides a flexible work environment with options for compressed work weeks, flexible start times, and shutdown periods. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
