 Launch Vehicles is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer - Level 4  to serve as the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) Sr. Principal Systems Engineer, located in Chandler, AZ.   

The GMD Sr. Principal Systems Engineer is a key part of our Systems Integration and Test (SEIT) team and will assist in supporting the GMD Booster delivery and sustainment efforts for the Systems Engineering group, including one or more of the following activities (and others not included in this list):  

Ensure that the Systems Engineering effort on the GMD Booster Program complies with all internal standards and guidelines. 

Function in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment. Regular interface with program management, engineering staff and external customers is expected. 

Requirements capture, definition, flow down and derivation of lower-level requirements. 

Verification activities (planning and final capture) and using a requirements-based testing approach 

System integration including hardware/software design implementation and testing. 

Basic Qualifications: 

8 Years with Bachelors in Science; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD 

Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of Systems Engineering tools experience (DOORS or other requirements traceability tool) 

U.S. Citizenship is required 

Ability to acquire DoD Secret level security clearance 

Possess a strong resolve to drive tasks to completion autonomously and possess demonstrated mentoring/training skills 

Experience with requirement tracing/verification from customer requirements through sub-component requirements 

Clear, concise communicator 

Ability to self-prioritize tasking and perform work without appreciable direction 

Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity 

  Preferred Qualifications: 

Strong experienced-based and academic foundation in Systems Engineering fundamentals. 

Experience with testing with hardware in a lab 

Experience with Northrop Grumman Systems Engineering standards 

Experience with updating/maintaining Software Version Description Documents (SVDDs) 

System testing and launch operations experience 

Demonstrated experience leading a team of engineers 

Experience with Agile development environments; experience with JIRA 

The candidate should possess strong technical problem solving, written and verbal communication skills to generate and document system level launch vehicle requirements, perform vehicle performance assessments and participate in system level verification/data review activities.

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards 

Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
