We are seeking an experienced and passionate Systems Engineering Lead with a strong background in model-based design and modeling and simulation architectures. Experience in Department of Defense (DoD) development programs is essential. This role is pivotal for integrating state-of-the-art systems engineering practices into our major system development program, significantly impacting our strategic objectives. Your expertise and technical knowledge will be crucial in ensuring the successful design, integration, and implementation of cutting-edge defense technologies. As a key member of our engineering team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that meet the needs of our military customers.

ResponsibilitiesSpearheading model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies, ensuring alignment with DoD standards and practices.Leveraging agile development strategies to develop modeling architecture in support of requirements allocation and verification, design trade studies and optimization, functional and mission modeling, specification development, and collaboration with customer and end user modeling frameworks.Coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of MBSE concepts within our system development processes.Utilizing systems engineering tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw, MATLAB, or similar for system design and analysis.Conducting system architecture design, requirements engineering, verification and validation, and risk management activities.Managing the systems engineering process for complex military systems, from concept to deployment, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, project requirements, and industry standards.Performing system level trade analysis of different design options, including estimated development and operational costs.Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and subject matter experts, to develop system architecture and design solutions that optimize performance, reliability, and maintainability.Overseeing system integration, verification, and validation activities to ensure compliance with functional requirements and performance objectives.Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies to address technical challenges and ensure system safety, security, and interoperability.Collaborating with project managers to develop project plans, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of milestones.Supporting the preparation of technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, test plans, and reports.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline with 5+ years of related experience, or an M.S. in engineering or related discipline with 3+ years of related experience.Excellent written and oral communications skills.Ability to interface with customers and build relationships.Proficiency in Model Based Systems Engineering principles to develop SysML Models.Experience with DOORS requirement management tool.Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in electrical design, automation, and electrical engineering.Proficiency in MATLAB, Cameo, and Magic Draw.An existing U.S. Security Clearance is desired.Work Environment

The work environment is casual and deadline-intensive, fostering a great team atmosphere. The team consists of a small group of equipment design engineers within a facility that primarily focuses on engineering, with 120 total people onsite. The dress code is business casual. Our company offers a large, cutting-edge facility and has been awarded a long-term contract, ensuring work for many years to come.

This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
