Systems Engineer

Job Title: Systems Engineering Analyst

Job Description

The Systems Engineering Analyst will work within the Architecture team, collaborating closely with counterparts to shape systems deployed by the Canadian Army. The role focuses on Land C5ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance), integrating separate systems and analyzing operational contexts.

Responsibilities

Translate business and operational requirements into technical solutions.Support architecture decisions for complex enterprise and distributed systems.Shape technical scope and requirements for LC5ISR System of Systems in Theatre.Review and contribute to Enterprise System Models for trade studies.Document technical capabilities for future reference and training.Develop program and technology roadmaps aligned with business strategy.Mentor junior engineers and drive technical innovation.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.Minimum 8+ years of practical experience in software, hardware, or systems engineering/architecture.Eligible for a secret clearance with over 10 years of experience.Proven experience in leading large-scale system designs.Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.Demonstrated success in collaborating with diverse stakeholders.Experience with communication systems and technology in an aerospace and defense context.Ability to break down large-scale projects into smaller, manageable components.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Networking experience, including IP Routing and Cisco Routers.Hardware experience, including PCB and coding.Strong understanding of software and system development life cycles.Familiarity with software development trends and enterprise systems modeling tools.Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks.Understanding of cloud migration strategies and technologies.Security and compliance expertise.Experience with DevOps practices implementation.Knowledge of virtualization trends and technologies such as Microservices and Containers.Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Ottawa, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.

This is a hybrid position in Ottawa,ON.
