Join our dynamic Product Engineering team as a Systems Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing cutting-edge product solutions with a focus on Common Computing. You will be instrumental in creating products that meet customer specifications, establishing strategic vendor relationships, auditing equipment suitability, and supporting the hardware development lifecycle from prototyping to End-Of-Life.
ResponsibilitiesAnalyze, derive, reconcile, and ensure traceability of requirements for integrated systems that encompass hardware and software designs.Produce and review design artifacts for system and hardware products.Create and evaluate white papers and market studies for system and hardware products.Collaborate with the procurement department and liaise with suppliers to identify suitable products that meet system requirements.Establish, produce, and maintain a bill of materials to support equipment definition.Support the design and demonstration of hardware solutions to ensure they meet required performance criteria and cyber accreditation, including aspects like operating environment, network, processing, storage, interfaces, data and network security, and technical performance measurements.Conduct surveys of marketplace technologies, analyze industry trends, and participate in technology selection, including trade-off studies and prototype demonstrations.Define technology criteria selection based on required performance and perform trade-off analysis.Essential Skills3-7 years of experience in Systems Engineering.Knowledge of requirement management for software/hardware lifecycle, from design to procurement and obsolescence.Familiarity with industry collaboration tools such as DOORS, Jira, Confluence.Proficiency with Microsoft Office tool suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Familiarity with configuration management processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious Naval experience is a plus.Work EnvironmentThis is a hybrid role requiring you to be on-site three days per week in either Ottawa, Halifax, or Montreal. You will have the opportunity to support one of the top defense integrators in North America and work on meaningful projects across the naval industry.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
