Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer/Deputy Project Engineer to support our OPIR Exploitation Systems (OES) Operating Unit at our Boulder, Colorado facilities. This role will be a 50/50 time split between project engineering and systems engineering related work.
Job Duties:
Project EngineeringSupports Lead Project Engineer with day-to-day efforts of one or more technical projects under Program Management direction to complete projects within budget and schedule constraints.Prepares and manages documents and data for assigned projects; relevant areas include: budget, schedule, and status reporting; documents/data creation includes, but is not limited to: PowerPoint slides, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, reports, etc.Works with team to proactively assess/identify project issues and develop solutions / resolution actions to meet schedule, productivity, quality, and customer-aligned goals and objectives.Monitors status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares timely and accurate status reports.Performs CAM duties; understands variance analysis on cost and schedule reports.Provides clear and concise communications to stakeholders.Develops and nurtures customer relationships and customer intimacy.Systems EngineeringSupports team with technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.Maintains existing procedures keeping up-to-date to also include lessons learned from real-time performance.Develops new procedures as required. Basic Qualifications:
2 Years experience with Bachelor's in STEM (Science, Math, Engineering, Technology); 0 Years with Masters.Space Based Infrared Systems (SBIRS) experienceExperience and knowledge of current Relay Ground Systems (RGS) designExperience with Control Account Management/Earned Value Management (CAM/EVM)Experience with Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) management and schedulingMBSE experience utilizing Cameo Experience with some aspect of requirements development and approvalDOORS experienceExperience with Atlassian toolsStrong verbal and written skillsMicrosoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project, etc)Must have a Current/Active DoD Top Secret clearance to be considered with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCIPreferred Qualifications:
Active DoD TS/SCI Security ClearanceExperience working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT)Experience providing technical contributions to cross-domain development projects (SW, HW, Cyber, Integration and Test, Training, etc.)Experience using the following Web applications/Software programs: SharePoint, JIRA, and ConfluenceExperience managing risk to include, but not limited to, development/identification of risks, development/management of mitigation actions, Return to Green (RTG) plans, etc.Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
