Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Field Engineering is seeking a Systems Engineer 2 or 3 for our OCONUS location in the Republic of Korea as an EXPAT (successful completion of training in our Baltimore, MD office required prior to being stationed overseas). A US home of record is required.
While this OCONUS (Outside the Continental U.S.) position reports to the Baltimore, MD Field Engineering office, the candidate can be based anywhere in the USA, with no domestic relocation required.
Note: As an international assignee, you will be eligible to receive international assignment benefits, allowances and/or premiums negotiated between Northrop Grumman and the customer which will be communicated to you in advance of your assignment start date and memorialized in an International Assignment Agreement (“IAA”) between you and the Company. What You’ll get to Do:
Provide continuous on-site support for the Longbow FCR System on the AH-64E Apache for the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) in South Korea.
Become part of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems’ Field Engineering organization, working in a rewarding environment, and interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines, functional management, and program leadership.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as day to day point of contact for the customer under the direction of program management
Troubleshoot hardware/software issues to help determine technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications
Attend regular status/stand-up meetings with program office and customer
Create weekly status reports
Provide administrative and logistical support
Other duties as required
This position may be filled as a Systems Engineer level 2 or Systems Engineer level 3.
Basic Qualifications for a Systems Engineer 2:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical field and 2 years’ experience
Experience in hardware\software integration of embedded systems
Basic knowledge of RF fundamentals including radar operations
Effective verbal and written communication, ability to work in a team environment
Willingness and ability to support international assignment in South Korea
Willingness and ability to successfully complete required training in Baltimore, MD prior to international assignment (duration approximately 90+ days)
US Citizenship and a current/active DoD Secret Clearance are required
Basic Qualifications for a Systems Engineer 3:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical field and 5 years’ experience
Experience in hardware\software integration of embedded systems
Basic knowledge of RF fundamentals including radar operations
Effective verbal and written communication, ability to work in a team environment
Willingness and ability to support international assignment in South Korea
Willingness and ability to successfully complete required training in Baltimore, MD prior to international assignment (duration approximately 90+ days)
US Citizenship and a current/active DoD Secret Clearance are required
Preferred Qualifications:
Military flight line / hangar experience and familiarity with aviation maintenance best practices
Apache experience (including experience with Longbow radar or other airborne fire-control radar systems)
Fundamental avionics engineering / maintenance background desirable
Experience with C, C++
Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
