Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems is seeking an Operations Mission Engineer to be a member of a cross-disciplined specialist team located in Aurora, CO. This position is a highly visible position that includes frequent interactions with customers and working on a diverse team.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Supporting integration/coordination within the customer and user communities and the program’s operations departmentsEnabling information flow throughout disparate organizations to identify opportunities to leverage system capabilities to solve unique user challengesInitiating conceptual studies designed to optimize nominal and emerging utilization of system data process capabilities, and developing the techniques to implement these capabilitiesDeveloping recommendations for addressing operational shortfalls, including improvements for system data processingTroubleshooting end-to-end data problems and providing an assessment of and identifying error sources in the end-to-end system, including developing processes and tools to minimize system errorsPerforming ongoing system performance monitoring and investigating unexpected findingsSupporting system calibrations and system test executionProviding an interface to factory subject matter experts for new system deliveries and upgradesProviding feedback to factory engineering on operational priorities and objectives in support of ongoing and future development activitiesMust demonstrate ability to work effectively and collaboratively within diverse, cross-functional teams, including partnerships with contract personnel, ensuring seamless integration and shared ownership of objectives. Must be self-motivated, capable of operating under general direction, and adept at independently determining and developing approaches to complex situations.While this position typically follows standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM), candidates must be prepared to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in response to emergencies or critical operational needs. During such events, employees may be required to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating basis until the situation is resolved. Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 2 years of relevant professional experience within an engineering roleBasic understanding of digital signal processing and communications theory fundamentalsExcellent written, presentation, coordination, interpersonal, and communication skillsCandidate must be able to obtain and maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S Government security clearances:Department of Defense Top Secret level with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with a CI PolygraphOR SCI access with an SSBIOR Department of Energy Q clearance with an SSBIAbility to utilize Microsoft Office Tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint to execute responsibilities as needed within the role (presentations, internal/external communications, data collection, etc)Level 3:

Applicable operations and maintenance program experience (payload systems engineering, integration and test, and/or TIPFamiliarity and practical use with MATLAB, Python, and Perl scripting languagesFamiliarity with LinuxSalary Range: $89,400.00 - $111,800.00Salary Range 2: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
