Systems Engineer, Senior

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:

Performs systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineeringProvides Tier I-II support for system and network operations to include configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of enterprise IT infrastructurePerforms troubleshooting of servers, network devices, and operating systemsParticipates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of systems enhancementsProvides input for documentation on new or existing systemsDevelops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements Identifies, analyzes, and resolves operating/hardware system problemsMaintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned This position may be a people managerParticipates in special projects as required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: BS/BA in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experienceRequired Experience: 5+ years of related experience; military experience preferredRequired Technical Skills:Knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques; Knowledge of the associated hardware, software and equipmentProvide network administration on configurations and perform diagnostics on the network infrastructure; voice / data systems architecture Provide expertise in configuration, management and viability of primary switches, all remote nodes, and various communications devices Coordinate requirements in conjunction with Network Enterprise Center (NEC), as necessary, to resolve failures of interfaces and networksManage, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere environmentsDevelop operating procedures, monitors the ongoing operation of a complex network environmentCertification: Network+, CCNA, or SEC+ is requiredSecurity Clearance Level: SECRET clearance is required with ability to obtain TS/SCI ClearanceRequired Skills and Abilities:Must meet DoD 8570 IAM I certificationSuperb communication skillsMust be able to perform with minimal guidanceLocation: On Customer Site/moderate travel to other customer sites throughout Pacific AoR

The likely salary range for this position is $107,744 - $123,906. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
