Daikin Applied is seeking an HVAC Systems IAQ Business Development Manager who will be responsible for supporting the strategies of our HVAC Systems Applications team. HVAC Systems Applications mission is to grow knowledge around HVAC systems so that Daikin can better support our sales and engineering customers with guidance on meeting their design goals and overcoming challenges, as well as leveraging that knowledge to ideate and develop more wholistic solutions to those challenges.
If you have a background in HVAC systems, consulting engineering, HVAC sales, or other equivalent experience, this is your opportunity to look at the big picture, work collaboratively to study HVAC systems challenges, evangelize solutions, and make a difference in key focus areas. You will accomplish this by working with our sales representatives, as well as consulting and specifying engineers, to deliver technical systems support about our products and solutions. This role will also be responsible for strategizing how we go to market with different indoor air quality (IAQ) products and solutions and to support the creation of content related to HVAC systems, such as white papers, design guides, and presentations. You should be familiar with the broad landscape of commercial HVAC system designs and have deep expertise on indoor air quality (IAQ) concepts. What you will do:
Document opportunities to grow our HVAC systems support offering and communicate sales strategies to secure basis of design (via representatives) primarily through consultantsCall on sales representatives or consultants as needed to promote HVAC Systems concepts and influence their designs to include Daikin product features and benefits through basis of design specifications. Deliver content to end users, developers, architects, etc. as needed resulting from primary consultant-based activitiesRepresent Daikin Applied via professional associations such as USGBC, ASHRAE, AEE, with a focus on IAQ topicsPromote Daikin Applied as a technology leader and environmentally responsible manufacturerDevelop expertise on the features, benefits, technical performance, and design guidelines for Daikin Applied’ s products and deliver systems guidance levering those strengths, marketed to consultantsServe as the subject matter expert for the theme of IAQ with deep expertise on this impacts systemsLead internal efforts to address HVAC Systems needs by working with solutions leaders to prioritize solutions in their roadmaps by evaluating and delivering business cases for new technologies and leading project workstreams as requiredProduce and deliver routine information presentations; webinars, lunch and learns, etc., to educate customers on Daikin products, and HVAC systemsGather ongoing prospect/customer feedback, enhancement requests, and related informationLiaise with Equipment Sales Team to assist in expanding Daikin Applied Equipment and Daikin VRV SystemsEffectively communicate technical systems knowledge to customers through client visits, technical presentations, lunch and learns, e-mail and phone contactPropose changes in equipment to keep pace with industry code advancements, emerging system demands and market demands, with a particular focus on IAQ. Work with customers to determine how products or services could be designed or modified to best meet clients’ needsProduce and maintain market and competitor intelligence regarding HVAC systems offeringDocument and Report on market changes affecting Daikin Applied’s products or servicesAssist in creation of application guides and other technical documents that assist engineers in designing efficient and effective HVAC systems that leverage Daikin Applied productsWhat’s in it for you:

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field10+ years of HVAC industry experience in engineering, technical sales or a combinationAbility to travel up to 50% (25-35% typical) within the US and Canada. Occasional international travel as neededValid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle RecordWork visa sponsorship is not available for this position.Benefits:
