You will be the Systems Architect Sr. Staff for the F-35 Program which is responsible for delivering air‑superiority solutions and pioneering next‑generation technologies.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Systems Architect Sr. Staff you will be responsible for shaping the end‑to‑end architecture of the Lightning II platform, ensuring mission‑critical requirements are met while advancing technology readiness.
Your responsibilities will include:
Design, develop, and oversee system architectures for Vehicle Systems (VS) and Mission Systems (MS).
Serve as the focal point for architecture development and communication across internal and international teams.
Translate mission requirements into total system solutions that respect design and technology‑maturity constraints.
Lead internal and external design reviews, coordinating with platform system architects and partner organizations.
Develop models, architectural guidelines, and collaborative approaches to integrate software‑intensive capabilities onto the platform.

You are a collaborative, forward‑thinking systems leader with deep expertise in agile software development, DevSecOps, Model‑Based Systems Engineering, and Systems Engineering. Your experience with the F‑35 program and proven ability to navigate complex proposals and cost‑estimating environments make you uniquely qualified to drive innovative architecture solutions that sustain air‑superiority for the nation and allies.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline (Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred)
• Demonstrated experience with systems architecture, networking, and/or computer resources (memory, processing, etc.), and air vehicles.
• Knowledge of systems architecture best practices
Desired Skills:
• Emerging leader in capabilities development, Model Based Systems Engineering, and Systems Engineering
• Experience with the F-35 program
• Experience with proposals and cost estimating for military programs
• Strong programmatic and communications skills
• Previous systems lab and F-35 architecture experience.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
