MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

The Junior Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Administrator assists with the administration, monitoring, and updates to our virtual infrastructure systems. In this role, you will support critical system patching, help respond to incidents, and assist with scheduling activities under the guidance of senior staff. You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of virtual infrastructures, including virtual networking, virtual systems, and zero trust architecture as the Junior VDI Administrator, you will be a valued member of the GDIT team supporting the vital mission of the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM).

Assist with the administration of virtual infrastructure environments, including VMware, Nutanix, and Microsoft Hyper-V.Help configure and maintain desktop services using Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop (CVAD) and Omnissa Horizon.Provide Tier 1/2 support, performing initial troubleshooting for issues within the virtual infrastructure and escalating when necessary.Assist in gathering requirements from end-users and help coordinate changes with other support teams.Collaborate with Network Operations, Cyber Security, and other teams to support and implement solutions.Handle incident tickets, ensuring they are updated in a timely manner according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).Perform initial system and application diagnosis to help remediate issues, working with other teams as needed.Learn to apply DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to help maintain a secure environment.

Basic Qualifications

Demonstrated experience administering and troubleshooting virtual infrastructure, with a strong understanding of virtualization concepts.Understanding at least one of the following platforms: VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, Microsoft Hyper-V.Understanding VDI technologies, including Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop (CVAD) and familiarity with Omnissa Horizon. Experience with a transition between VDI platforms is a plus.Knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, GPO, FSLogix).Familiarity with physical and technology security IT best practice.Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Education: Associate's Degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).Experience: 7 years of experience in an IT environment.Technical Skills:A foundational knowledge of IT systems and an eagerness to become an expert in troubleshooting.The ability to assist senior staff with analyzing and resolving support tickets, with a focus on learning and development.Security clearance level: TS/SCIUS citizenship requiredRequired Certification(s):DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contractIAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent Computing Env: Computing Env: VCALocation: On Customer SiteRole Requirements:On customer site daily supportCandidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contractPosition may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activityTravel may be required to support the mission
