Systems Administrator

Job Purpose
Responsible for the reliability, security, and performance of the company’s core IT infrastructure. Provide hands-on systems administration with deep ownership of servers, virtualization, backups, storage, and identity services, also serving as a technical escalation point for Tier 2/3 issues. Provide secondary support for enterprise and plant-level applications, including administration, vendor coordination, and integration with infrastructure services.
Essential Functions
+ Core Systems & Infrastructure
+ o Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2016 and newer), including file, print, and application servers
+ o Manage VMware and vCenter environments, including VM provisioning, performance monitoring, and capacity planning
+ o Administer storage and backup platforms (SAN, iSCSI, Veeam), including backup policies, monitoring, and restore testing
+ o Maintain system security, patching, lifecycle management, and EOL remediation
+ o Support server, virtualization, and infrastructure-related hardware and software upgrades
+ o Monitor and maintain UPS systems across the organization
+ o Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2/3 infrastructure issues and support on-call/after-hours requirements
+ o Escalate and manage cases with third-party vendors for servers, virtualization, backups, and infrastructure performance
+ o Develop and maintain system documentation, runbooks, technical standards, and best practices
+ Identity, Collaboration & Core Services
+ o Support identity and access management platforms, including Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), OneLogin, and SSO integrations o Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and related collaboration tools
+ o Support Remote Desktop Services (RDS) and RemoteApp environments as required •
+ Enterprise & Plant Applications
+ o Provide administrative support for select enterprise and plant applications (e.g., 8x8, Jira, Appian, TraceGains, RedZone, camera/badge systems)
+ o Perform routine application maintenance, upgrades, and patching
+ o Coordinate with vendors for application support, escalations, and upgrades
+ o Oversee licensing management and user provisioning for assigned applications
+ o Partner with business units (HR, Finance, Operations) to understand application requirements and translate them into technical actions
+ o Monitor application availability and performance, escalating issues as needed
+ Automation, Documentation & Continuous Improvement
+ o Use scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, APIs, etc.) to streamline system and application administration tasks
+ o Create and maintain internal documentation, knowledge base articles, and operational runbooks
+ o Cross-train with team members to ensure operational continuity and coverage
+ o Stay current with evolving technologies, security practices, and industry standards
+ Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures
+ Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)
+ Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
+ 10+ years of hands-on systems administration experience with a strong infrastructure focus
+ Microsoft, VMware, or related infrastructure certifications preferred
+ Deep experience with Windows Server, VMware/vCenter, and backup technologies
+ Experience with Veeam, HPE, Synology, APC, and enterprise UPS environments preferred
+ Strong understanding of storage, virtualization, system performance, and capacity planning
+ Experience supporting identity platforms such as Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), and SSO solutions
+ Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration and collaboration services preferred
+ Proven ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues in a production environment
+ Exposure to enterprise application administration and vendor management preferred
+ Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Python, APIs) preferred
+ Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills
+ Ability to participate in on-call and after-hours support rotations as needed
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, operational environment

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $110,000 to $135,000 annually. Pay is based upon several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Rise Baking Company complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
