Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Principal Engineer System Test – System Test Data Mgr (26-049), to join our team of talented and diverse professionals. Based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations globally and regionally to improve performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems.
The System Test Team handles planning and analysis for all MDS ground and flight tests involving the C2BMC program. Ground testing includes pairwise tests, Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI), Integrated Ground Test (GTI), Distributed Ground Test (GTD), cyber tests, Space Domain Awareness (SDA), and pre-flight HWIL testing. Flight tests are performed using specified sensors and shooters. Additionally, international events encompass a variety of both ground and flight tests.
Essential Functions:
The System Test Data Manager oversees the collection, processing, delivery, and maintenance of all test event data
Data is collected from testbeds, laboratories, and real-world operational environments
Processing requests for real-world event (RWE) data
Meeting analysts' demands for accurate data
Managing server and NAS disk space effectively
Archiving data according to System Test procedures
Coordinating with FFRDC and Contractor analysts, Execution Leads, System Integrators, program leadership, and the Government customer
Creating reports on data processing and delivery status
Work will take place at Schriever SFB, with occasional nonstandard hours as needed based on test schedules
Basic Qualifications:
Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
A Bachelor’s Degree in STEM Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a STEM-related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD in a STEM-related discipline with 1 year of relevant work experience
Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period
Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
Must have Linux and Windows server systems administrator skills experience
Self-starter demonstrating strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment alongside government clients and both internal and external personnel involved in the program
Rudimentary coding skills to develop scripts to assist in automating data collection and management activities
Fundamental troubleshooting skills combined with the ability to comprehend software components functioning within a broadly distributed virtual environment
Shell scripting, cron jobs, tools, and automation

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering is highly preferred
Certification: INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification
Certification: Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP - MBF)
Python and Java are highly sought-after
Prior integration and testing experience within the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program
Technical knowledge of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Missile Defense System (MDS), including sensors, shooters, command and control systems, and networks

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
