The System HIM Manager monitors compliance with key HIM indicators to maintain enterprise objectives at Munson Healthcare’s Traverse City, Frankfort, Charlevoix, Otsego, Grayling, Cadillac, and Manistee locations. The System Health Information Manager oversees clerical, information release, and master patient index data integrity functions within the Health Information Management (HIM) Department. This role is responsible for the security, integrity, and accuracy of patient medical records and for implementing processes that support timely, complete, and compliant documentation. The manager collaborates extensively with physicians and hospital staff to enhance documentation quality, regulatory compliance, and electronic medical record functionality. The position requires strong knowledge of state and federal regulations governing privacy, security, record completion, and retention. The manager leads continuous quality improvement initiatives, supports regulatory surveys, and prepares data for reporting, budgeting, and process improvement. Additional responsibilities include participation in committees, development and maintenance of departmental policies, and oversight of daily HIM operations and workflows. The System Health Information Manager serves as a key liaison across Revenue Cycle departments, clinical providers, and practice staff, and acts as an enterprise-wide resource for health information management. Periodic travel to system facilities is expected.

The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy and Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
