Pay Rate Starting at : $70.10-$88.00 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global aerospace leader to hire a System Analysis & Design Engineer specializing in flight control systems. In this senior-level role, your work will directly impact the safety, performance, certification, and reliability of large commercial aircraft—from early design through production and in-service support.
Your Role and ImpactAs a Senior Flight Control Systems Integration and Safety Engineer, you will design, analyze, test, and certify critical flight control systems and components. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to ensure systems meet rigorous regulatory standards while supporting manufacturing and fleet operations worldwide.
What You’ll Do Day to DayDecompose airplane-level requirements into system- and component-level requirements
Develop, analyze, and document flight control system requirements supporting mission and trajectory objectives
Participate in and lead certification efforts, including system safety analysis, FMEA, fault tree analysis, and regulatory traceability
Resolve requirement conflicts and technical issues through analysis and design of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems
Perform and document validation and verification analysis and testing at system and component levels
Monitor and analyze tests, author test reports, review supplier test data, and lead test failure resolution
Coordinate cross-functionally with avionics, pilots, safety, aerodynamics, software teams, suppliers, airline customers, and regulatory agencies
Develop technical solutions and dispositions to ensure customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance
Work independently under general direction in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
5–7 years of technical experience working with Flight Control Systems
U.S. Person status required for Export Control compliance (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
Regular and predictable attendance
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
5+ years of related engineering experience or equivalent education/experience
Experience with System Safety Analysis (FMEA, fault tree analysis, common cause analysis, single/multiple failure analysis)
Knowledge of ARP 4754 and ARP 4761
Experience with flight control system and component architecture
Background in requirements development, design, analysis, and verification & validation
Experience using requirements management tools such as IBM Rational DOORS
Experience with regulated, safety-critical hardware and software in certified environments
Typical Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience
Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience
PhD with 4+ years of experience
(ABET accreditation preferred)

Pay Details: $70.10 to $88.00 per hour
