Sustainable Investment Analyst

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Investments Strategy team at Mercer. This role will be based in Lisbon or Porto. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Strategy Team is part of the Wealth business line and is dedicated in supporting the client manager consultants in all projects linked to the investment strategy of our clients, that are mainly UK Pension Schemes.

As a Sustainable Investment Analyst, you will support the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into investment decision-making processes. This role involves conducting in-depth calculations of climate metrics, decarbonization paths and analysing the impact of climate changes in the portfolio of our clients, while contributing for the development and implementation of the Climate metrics and climate transition Global tool.

You will be an integral part of an exciting project, where we support global Sustainable Investment team at Mercer. As you develop your skills and knowledge, you will take on additional responsibility and you will have the opportunity to enhance your expertise and learn from others as you build a platform for career growth. 

We will count on you to:

Monitor and evaluate the impact of investments on sustainability metrics, such as carbon emissions.Engage with external data providers, internal teams and senior consultants to generate accurate data analysis.Assist in client modelling and reporting regarding the transition to sustainable portfolio.Have a clear understanding of tool used and act as liaison between analysts’ team, developers and SI leads for tool improvements.Contribute to internal training and awareness programs on sustainability and responsible investment.

What you need to have:

Bachelor/ Master’s degree in engineering, math, actuarial science, statistics, economics, finance, management or related field.2+ years of experience in investment analysis, sustainability consulting, or related roles.Fluent in English (minimum C1 level).Good analytical skills and ability to work through tasks in a logical manner.Proven Project managements and communication skills.Ability to work as part of a team and build strong relationships with peers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.Able to take ownership of your work, ensuring standards and deadlines are met and keeping others informed and up-to-date.Able to work well under pressure, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
