The Sustainability & Climate Product Management Intern role sits within MSCI’s Sustainability and Climate Product team. The team is responsible for designing, building, and launching client-facing sustainability and climate products, tools, and analytics that support investors in understanding climate risks, opportunities, and transition pathways.
The intern will work closely with Product Managers, Data, Engineering, and Research teams, gaining exposure to the full product lifecycle—from early ideation and data exploration to client-facing delivery and product launch.
Your Key ResponsibilitiesWorking as part of a global product management team, the intern will support a range of initiatives across product development, data analysis, and operational efficiency, including:
Support the development of client-facing dashboards, tools, and analytical solutions, including testing, validation, and documentationContribute to product development projects, supporting ongoing initiatives led by Product Managers across climate and sustainability offeringsHelp document and improve internal processes, workflows, and efficiencies related to product development and deliverySupport cross-functional collaboration with Research, Data, Technology, and Client Coverage teamsAssist with product-related materials, including internal documentation, presentations, and launch supportGain hands-on exposure to the end-to-end product lifecycle, from early concept and design through to client launch and post-launch enhancementsParticipate in ad-hoc analysis and exploratory work related to sustainability, climate data, and product strategyYour skills and experience that will help you excelCurrently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Studies, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related fieldMust be available for a minimum of 9 months and able to work at least 30 hours per weekStrong interest in sustainability, climate change, and/or sustainable finance, with curiosity to learn how products are built in a financial services contextThe candidate must be based at Mexico city or MonterreyComfortable working independently and autonomously, with the ability to manage tasks and ask thoughtful questions when neededStrong analytical, data visualization and problem-solving skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required; familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Sigma, Tableau) or basic programming (Python, SQL) is a plus but not requiredClear and professional English communication skills, both written and verbalStrong organizational skills and attention to detailWillingness to learn, adapt, and engage with new topics, tools, and processesAbout MSCIWhat we offer you
