Duration: 10-week internship from May 18 – July 24, 2026Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)Work Environment: Hybrid – remote work from the state of North Carolina with onsite events at our Durham campusResidency Requirement: Interns must reside in the state of North Carolina for the duration of the programExperience: Hands-on project work that supports our customers and strengthens communities across North CarolinaMentorship: Interns are paired with a mentor and receive regular feedback to support their developmentWhat You’ll Do
Join the Sustainability & Impact team, where we ensure that Blue Cross NC operates responsibly by aligning business goals with long-term societal and environmental health and wellbeing. As an intern, you’ll support our carbon footprint and operational efficiency efforts, gaining exposure to how companies approach long-term goal-setting, account for their greenhouse gas impact in areas such as supply chain, and consider sustainability certifications such as WELL. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to work that drives real change in healthcare.
What You Bring
Currently enrolled in a degree seeking Graduate (MBA, Masters) academic program, ideally in sustainability or corporate social responsibilityStrong curiosity, drive, and ability to work independently and collaborativelyExcellent time management and communication skillsBonus Points
Experience with data and reporting conceptsPrior internship or project experience in sustainability or corporate social responsibilityFamiliarity with concepts such as carbon footprint and social impact trackingCompensation:
Rising Sophomore: $20/hrRising Junior/Senior $22/hrMasters / JD: $29/hrMBA / PharmD: $36/hrSalary Range

Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.
