Job Title: Surveyor Job Description We are seeking an Instrument Operator/Rodman for a consulting firm based in Lynnwood. The role involves working in pairs on projects from Seattle and north, focusing on layout projects related to utilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in topographic surveying, and while construction staking experience is not required, it is considered a plus. Familiarity with Trimble equipment and software is preferred. This position offers a great opportunity for career advancement to a Party Chief role. Responsibilities + Operate surveying instruments, including Trimble GPS and other boundary survey software. + Conduct topographic surveys and create topographic maps. + Participate in land surveying and construction layout projects. + Support high-rise construction projects when not engaged in PSE contracts. Essential Skills + 1 year of experience with Trimble or similar surveying equipment. + 1 year of experience in topographic surveying. + 1 year of experience in instrument operation. + Experience in land surveying and construction layout. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Construction staking experience is a plus. + Layout mapping experience is preferred. + Experience managing survey crews is advantageous but not required. Work Environment Our work environment is characterized by electronic communication, with dispatching done well in advance, allowing direct site access without the need for office visits. The office is located in Lynnwood, with typical working hours starting between 6:00 and 6:30 AM. Projects are primarily located in Seattle and north. The team is cohesive and laid-back, operating under a management philosophy that trusts employees to act independently without micromanagement. Benefits include six paid holidays and 80 hours of PTO. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lynnwood, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
