The Survey Research Center (SRC) at the Institute for Social Research (ISR) is seeking a School Recruitment Specialist to connect with schools across the country, highlight the importance of adolescent substance use research, and recruit them to participate in the Monitoring the Future (MTF) study, a landmark survey shaping national understanding of adolescent alcohol, tobacco, and drug use.

Responsibilities*
Recruitment - 40%
Contact school principals and administrators nationwide to encourage participation in the MTF surveyConduct persuasive outreach via cold calls, emails, and follow-upsManage a caseload of 50+ schoolsDevelopment - 40%
Cultivate strong, ongoing relationships with school contactsCraft compelling materials and messages to showcase the impact and benefit of MTF participationDocumentation - 20%
Enter detailed communication notes in a database/CRM systemAccurately document outreach activities and progressStay up-to-date on relevant trends in education and substance use prevention to inform outreachRequired Qualifications*High School diploma or Associate degree2+ years experience in recruitment, sales, public relations or school administration1+ years direct outreach (phone/email) to stakeholdersPersuasive communicator with a track record of converting prospectsRelationship-builder comfortable with diverse audiencesExperience with CRM/databases; proficiency in Google Workspace, MS Office, ZoomDesired Qualifications*5+ years in school administration (esp. as principal), or strong experience working with K-12 organizationsExperience in survey administration or researchProven success overcoming objections in outreach/salesStrategic thinker with creative recruitment ideasWork LocationsThis position will be on-site at the University of Michigan offices in Ann Arbor, with flexible scheduling and remote opportunities made available within our overall Center policies. If relocation is required, we will allow for reasonable time and flexibility to make necessary arrangements.
