Job Title: Survey Technician Job Description We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Survey Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will assist in conducting land surveys for construction, mapping, and other purposes. This role involves collaborating with surveyors, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate data collection and analysis. Responsibilities + Assist in the preparation and maintenance of survey equipment and instruments. + Perform field surveys, including measuring distances, angles, and elevations using total stations, GPS, and other surveying instruments. + Collect and record survey data in field books or electronic devices. + Assist in the preparation of survey drawings, maps, and reports using CAD software. + Conduct research on land records, survey maps, and other legal documents to determine property boundaries. + Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure survey requirements are met. + Adhere to safety standards and procedures while working in the field. Essential Skills + Proficiency in using surveying instruments such as total stations and GPS. + Strong mathematical and analytical skills. + Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and recording. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or technical certification in surveying, geomatics, or a related field is preferred. + Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. + Capable of lifting and carrying survey equipment. + Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods. Work Environment The role involves fieldwork and driving to project sites daily, within a 50-mile radius of Butler. The position offers the flexibility to leave directly from home and may not require office visits. Use of personal vehicle is necessary, with mileage reimbursements provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Butler, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
