Job Description

The Survey Inspector Inspector will provide essential on-site quality assurance for civil and grading activities associated with substation projects. This role supports the Substation Transmission Construction Civil group, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

Provide quality assurance for civil and grading activities at substation projects.Ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.Read and interpret grading plans and soil reports effectively.Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with project teams.Utilize surveying experience with robotic instruments, GPS, and data collector instruments.Organize and manage time efficiently, working independently as a self-starter.Use various software, including Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel), efficiently.Work proficiently with computers and/or iPads in a field office setting.

Essential Skills

5+ years of experience in a similar role within substation, survey, and civil construction.Proficiency in reading and interpreting grading plans and soil reports.Minimum 5 years surveying experience with robotic instruments, GPS, and data collector instruments.Strong communication skills, both oral and written.Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous experience in civil construction works is preferred.Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.Proficiency in computer or iPad usage.

Work Environment

The position is based at the General Services Complex in Calera and requires work in the field. The role offers an opportunity to work with Alabama's largest Investor-Owned Utility (IOU)

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Calera, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $48.00/hr.
