Job Title: Survey Technician

Job Description

Join a dynamic engineering and surveying firm serving both public and private clients throughout the Midwest as a Survey Technician. You will play a crucial role in supporting surveyors by utilizing AutoCAD software to perform design and drafting activities, including construction layouts, topographic drawings, and various survey-related sketches and diagrams.

Responsibilities

Produce drawings using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software.Review and analyze sketches, notes, and verbal information to determine appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments.Process field crew survey data.Conduct trips to the field to clarify or verify survey data or assist field staff as necessary.Prepare base survey mapping.Create stakeout data for construction layout.Revise and modify drawings as necessary.Maintain project point database files.Plot, organize, and assemble project-related documents.Develop, understand, and follow project budgets and schedules.Perform duties as assigned by the Project Manager.

Essential Skills

2+ years of survey CAD experience in topographic, boundary, construction layout, and as-built surveys.Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.Ability to contribute to all phases of a project from start to as-builts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with MicroStation and/or OpenRoads.Proficiency in Trimble Business Center.Ability to operate field equipment and perform field surveys.Experience in survey CAD work for energy or pipeline-related clients.

Work Environment

This role is fully in-office, offering flexibility if situations arise that require it. Occasionally, site visits may be necessary. You will be part of a small team in the Cincinnati office consisting of two project managers, a field manager, and two field surveyors. The office anticipates a steady influx of work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Chester, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
