Stantec has an open opportunities for the position of Survey Assistant within our Geospatial Group.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary engineering surveys using GNSS (GPS), electronic total station, and conventional survey equipment.
- Follow directions from the senior surveyor for completing survey tasks
- Assist in transferring survey data to the proper folder locations.
- Communicate effectively with members of the team and follow standard procedures.
- Responsible for safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Assist in taking care of Company vehicle and Company issued survey equipment.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
- Actively participate in Stantec’s HSSE.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Requires ability to work well in a team environment
- Demonstrate a focus on safety and risk analysis and mitigation
- You possess technical and mathematical skills along with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record (will be required to arrange transportation to the work site).
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and long days.
- Safety footwear & appropriate clothing is a requirement. Stantec will provide safety vests, hard hats & and additional safety equipment required.
Education and Experience
- Previous experience is not required. However, experience in residential construction or post-secondary education in a Geomatics or a Civil Engineering program would be considered a significant asset. Basic knowledge of CAD standards and familiarity with Trimble survey equipment would also be beneficial.
This is a defined term role with an anticipated end date in 2027 with the potential to transition into a full-time permanent position.

**Pay Range:**
• Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC & Various locations in Ontario-$41,900.00 - $56,600.00 Annually
**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
