There are 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts. Call is required and is self-scheduled with the group. **MUST** have 3 years of Scrub Tech experience to qualify. **Job Summary:** Provides direct and indirect care to the surgical patient within the scope of practice. Supports the department through operational efficiency within specialty area. **Job Responsibilities and Requirements:** PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES + Ensures patient safety through compliance with rules, regulations, policies and procedures which result in zero preventable errors. + Works in collaboration with others to improve patient, employee and physician satisfaction. + Participates in the creation of a financially effective facility through the efficient utilization of resources. + Supports the care of the patient through the provision of timely supply management and accurate physician preference lists. + Functions as a member of the team through active participation in staff meetings, committees, and special projects. + Demonstrates and promotes the principles of relationship based care through the development of health relationships with patients, staff and physicians. + Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. + Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION + Graduate of a technical program for operating room technicians EXPERIENCE + Three years' experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + Constant use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify and distinguish colors. + Constant use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. + Constant lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. + Constant standing and walking. + Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. + Frequent lifting/moving patients. + Frequent bending, stooping, reaching and gripping. + Frequent use of clear vision at 20 inches or less. + Frequent use of speech to share information through oral communication. + Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing over 50 lbs. + Occasional use of clear vision at 20 feet or more. + Occasional use of sitting, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. + Occasional keyboard use/data entry. + Rare kneeling.
