You’ll work alongside expert surgeons, anesthesiologists, Certified Perioperative Nurses (CNOR), Certified Post Anesthesia Nurses (CPAN®), Surgical Technologists, and Nursing Assistants—all dedicated to delivering exceptional care. As an Surgical Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in the operating room, assisting surgeons with tasks such as: + Controlling bleeding + Providing optimal wound exposure + Suturing + Performing other critical intraoperative functions Ready to make a difference in the lives of patients across the Pacific? **Apply today and become part of our Queen’s ‘Ohana.** Join Queen's ‘Ohana (https://vimeo.com/933434999/6045653d94?share=copy) **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** • High School diploma or comparable education and training. • Current certification as a first assistant (CFA), surgical assistant (CSA), or assistant in surgery by one the following: o National Board of Surgical Technology and Assisting (NBSTSA) o National Surgical Assistant Association (NSAA) o American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA) o National Assistant at Surgery Council (NASC) • Current certification in Basic Life Support at the Healthcare Professional Level. • Prior First Assistant/Surgical Assistant experience preferred. **TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** • Essential: standing, sitting, lifting, walking, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object. • Occasional: stooping/bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions. • Operates computer, microscope, and various surgical equipment, instrumentation and supplies. **TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:** • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. • Exposed to blood and body fluids.
