Supv Central Spare Parts
PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Maintains parts and records of quantity, type and value of spare parts. Responsible for inventories, purchasing, requisitions control of spare parts to keep production areas running efficiently, minimize down time and expediting to a minimum. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Supervise the daily operations of the team, including but not limited to: establishing mutual goals, assigning tasks and maintaining schedules. Central Spare Parts activities include 24/7 coverage. + Directs and coordinates activities concerned with spare parts, equipment and personnel. + Develops systems and procedures to control inventory and pricing, quality control standards, quantities, specifications and delivery dates. + Performs Material Requirements Planning (MRP) functionality, review a collective list of stock snapshots for re order point accuracy. + Coordinates activities between maintenance, purchasing, suppliers and receiving. + Reviews and analyzes spare parts usage to control inventory. Assists in identifying obsolete spare parts and initiates Material Asset Disposition Request (MADR) for approvals. Recommends to management scrap or salvage. + Develops and implements SOPs to control and improve tool crib efficiency. + Professionally interface with all vendors to ensure part quality and availability. + Professionally and technically interface with all Maintenance Department personnel. + Maintain general housekeeping of working area and plant. + Technically proficient in Central Spare Parts. Requires full knowledge of Central Spare parts functional responsibility. + Responsible for hiring, coaching and counseling employees, including performance reviews, disciplinary action and terminations. + Assists with various projects as assigned by a direct supervisor. + Other duties as assigned. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. + The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. SUPERVISION: May be responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of Central Spare Parts staff. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree required; in lieu of degree additional years of experience and/or education may be considered. EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS: + 2 – 3 years’ experience as an individual contributor senior role; or 1 – 3 years’ experience as a Supervisor within an Electrician or Mechanical Maintenance fields. + Experience and/or training with Warehouse and Buying. + Proficient with PCs, Microsoft Office applications, audio file formatting and business processing systems. + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. + Strong oral and written communication skills.
