Job Summary

The Supply Reliability Engineer will be responsible for the quality oversight raw materials, components, and special processes to support Millennium Space Systems’ mission. You will work across Global Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing to onboard, development and enhance supplier performance, ensure material reliability, and improve supplier capability throughout the product life cycle.

 

This position's internal job code is Quality Engineer. Our team is currently hiring for levels 3-4.

Position Responsibilities:  

Interface with Production operations, Inspection, Shipping/Receiving, and Engineering teams to develop appropriate quality signals and processes to meeting overall program reliability goalsMaintain established quality processes and necessary procedures to ensure the identification, segregation, control, and disposition of all nonconforming materials, parts, components, and subassemblies at both the internal and supplier levelLead containment actions for non-conforming products, including product traceability, coordination with Build Reliability Engineers on potential flight risks, and root cause analysis at the supply chain level.Identify opportunities for risk reduction and removal of complexity in designs and processes to improve manufacturability, collaborating with integrated product teams to drive improvements and address high-impact and repeating non-conformances.Responsible for tracking yield, test/inspection escapes, and ensuring past failures and lessons learned are incorporated into NPI.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field and 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing or quality engineering role, or 8+ years of direct work experienceKnowledge of mechanical and avionics product manufacturing, assembly, test and inspection processesAbility to read drawings, interpret specifications, and provide technical input to assembly and test proceduresUnderstanding of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologiesIntermediate knowledge of AS9100 quality standardsWorking knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirementsExperience performing and applying statistical analysis methodologies

Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, enthusiasm for the team’s spirit of innovation and mission of improving reliability in cutting-edge technologyMaster’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, materials engineering, or electrical engineeringDemonstrated application of process controls in high volume manufacturing, test, and quality environmentDedicated to adopting a Lean approach to quality without compromising safety or reliabilityKnowledge of quality tools such as Lean principles, measurement systems analysis, design of experiments, statistical process control, root cause analysis and corrective action, advanced product quality planning (APQP), metrology, process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA), control plans, and various problem-solving approachesExperience developing or supporting any of the following products/processes:Complex mechanical/structural assembliesAdvanced composites systemsFluid component/valve assemblyPre-preg lamination/curing compositesCNC machining, forming, bendingBonding, drilling, fastening and other assembly manufacturing processesAvionics integration and testingFluid system pressure testingWelding (OTW)

Summary Pay Range:

Level 3: $107,100 - $157,500Level 4: $130,900 - $192,500
