To support provide technical expertise and leadership to Caterpillar’s supply base in the execution of a robust quality plan within the suppler network. In addition, implement a well-documented continuous quality improvement process and strict process controls. This will be used for the evaluation and development of new and existing suppliers worldwide, to maximize Quality, Cost, Logistics, Delivery, and Management (QCLDM) within the supply network. To ensure that a supplier can meet corporate and business unit requirements for SER certification levels and customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery of purchased material.

To Cultivate and develop into professional SDE.

What You Will Do:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Work with suppliers to assure proper process control standards are in place and continuously monitor key manufacturing processes for improvement opportunitiesEnsure suppliers have adequate people, training, tooling, fixturing, and equipmentMonitor suppliers’ adherence to Process Change Notification on a timely and cost effective basis as well as to develop the supply base to fulfil the total requirements from Caterpillar System implementationSupport Product Sourcing Strategy and provide technical preliminary assessment in new supplier selectionWork with engineer team to evaluate and develop new supplier’s technological capability to meet requirements for Caterpillar Inc. Supplier Excellence ProgramDevelop and maintain thorough knowledge of technological developments and work with commodity teams in advancements of design, quality, and manufacturingProvide proposal of cost reduction and ensure implementation of robust solutions for cost reduction and quality problems associated with the purchased materials, logistics, and engineering issuesSupport and participate in 6 Sigma initiatives with facilities, category teams, and suppliers.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering.Minimum of 1 year of job-related experience.Knowledge or experience of APQP procedures, quality management and quality controlGood human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative working relationship with others inside and outside of Caterpillar.Working initiatively, strong sense of taking lead and breaking-through

Desired Qualifications:

Engineering or manufacturing background plus familiarity with manufacturing processes used to produce components and assemblies for Caterpillar Products.Knowledge of shop operations and maintenance procedures.Solid ability to use and demonstrate statistical and problem-solving tools.Certifications: ASQE or comparable International Certification is desired

Additional Information:

Some travel is required.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
