Job Description
The Clinical Strategic Sourcing Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting strategic sourcing initiatives within a healthcare network. This position involves negotiating complex business and legal contractual terms, performing data and financial analytics, auditing agreements, reviewing purchasing initiatives, and developing internal and external relationships. The role includes leading Value Analysis Teams to optimize GPO compliance, standardize processes, and ensure high performance of products with cost-effectiveness while managing clinical supplies and assets with an emphasis on quality and safety.
ResponsibilitiesEngage in capital planning, sourcing, and price negotiation.Establish and manage supply and service contracts.Develop sourcing strategies for clinical supply market categories.Serve as the enterprise expert in all clinical supply market categories.Analyze supply price and utilization history to prepare recommendations for cost and quality improvements.Lead negotiations, act as a sourcing expert, contract specialist, auditor, and consultant for clinical categories.Participate in indirect and direct procurement/purchasing activities.Conduct RFPs, manage SKUs, review contracts, and present findings in meetings.Serve on the cardiovascular floor to communicate and source supplies.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsStrong negotiation and analytical skills.5 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, and Purchasing within a multi-facility health system network.Knowledge of Supply Chain concepts and best practices.Confidence to interact and present to leadership.Basic understanding of supply chain processes including picking, ordering, and inventory.5+ years of healthcare experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsH.S. Diploma and a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Nursing, or RN required.Master's Degree in Business, Nursing, or related field preferred.Work Environment
Initially, in-office every day for the first 3-6 months, then transitioning to 2 days at home. The position requires presence on the cardiovascular floor as well. The team is supportive, encouraging internal promotions, and fosters a culture of independence with minimal micromanagement.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $43.00/hr.
