Supply Chain Performance Engineer
Job Title: Supply Chain Performance EngineerJob Description

The role of a Supply Chain Performance Engineer involves applying engineering theory and principles to address challenges in industrial layout or manufacturing production. The successful candidate will have the ability to create engineering drawings and interpret blueprints effectively.

ResponsibilitiesStudy time motion methods and speed involved in maintenance production and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency.Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.Observe workers using equipment to verify that equipment is being operated and maintained according to quality assurance standards.Observe workers operating equipment or performing tasks to determine time involved and fatigue rate using timing devices.Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.Provide Control Tower and allocation support to facility planners to address part shortages and supply disruptions.Lead and support crisis management activities related to supplier performance, delivery risk, and production impact.Drive past-due recovery actions for service, enterprise, and production facilities.Monitor and improve supplier shipping performance metrics.Lead RCCA efforts for late or early defects impacting production facilities.Partner with suppliers and internal teams to prevent recurrence of delivery failures.Support EDI and planning signal execution through NPE and planning systems.Establish and support Capacity Collaboration action plans for constrained suppliers and facilities.Provide Run@Rate process support to validate supplier capacity, throughput, and readiness.Support QCLDM initiatives including capacity, velocity, and capability assessments.Assist with supplier phase-in/phase-out activities to minimize operational risk.Conduct capacity scenario analysis to support sourcing and production decisions.Provide process guidance to stop external supplier defects impacting production facilities.Support PPM/SQPI RCCA activities, particularly where quality issues impact velocity or throughput.Essential SkillsCreativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.Team player and detail-oriented.Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).Strong understanding of manufacturing supply chains and production environments.Experience with supplier performance management, RCCA, and crisis response.Working knowledge of capacity planning, demand signals.Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with planning, sourcing, quality, and operations.Data-driven problem solver with strong communication and execution skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering required.5-7 years of experience in engineering or related field.Work Environment

The role is primarily onsite with less than 10% domestic travel to supplier sites.

This is a Contract position based out of Clayton, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr.
