Job Description
**Job Summary**
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution. The role ensures timely availability of materials and finished goods at optimal cost while maintaining quality standards and supporting business objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Supply Chain Planning & Control**
+ Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business goals.
+ Plan and manage demand forecasting, supply planning, and inventory optimization.
+ Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OTIF, inventory turnover, lead times, and cost efficiencies.
**Procurement & Vendor Management**
+ Manage sourcing, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and supplier performance.
+ Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure continuity of supply, quality, and cost competitiveness.
+ Identify alternative suppliers and mitigate supply chain risks.
**Inventory & Warehouse Management**
+ Ensure optimal inventory levels to meet production and customer demand.
+ Oversee warehousing, material handling, and stock control processes.
+ Implement FIFO/FEFO and best inventory management practices.
**Logistics & Distribution**
+ Manage inbound and outbound logistics, transportation, and distribution networks.
+ Optimize freight costs, routes, and delivery schedules.
+ Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and regulatory requirements.
**Process Improvement & Systems**
+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce waste.
+ Implement and improve ERP/MRP or supply chain management systems.
+ Analyze data and reports to identify improvement opportunities.
**Team Leadership & Collaboration**
+ Lead, train, and develop supply chain and logistics teams.
+ Coordinate with production, sales, finance, and quality teams to ensure smooth operations.
+ Support cross-functional decision-making and problem-solving.
**Key Skills & Competencies**
+ Strong knowledge of supply chain planning, procurement, logistics, and inventory management
+ Analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Negotiation and vendor management capabilities
+ Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
+ Strong communication and leadership skills
+ Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
**Educational Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, or related field
+ Master’s degree or professional certification (CSCP, CPM, CIPS) is an advantage
**Experience Requirements**
+ **8–12 years** of experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations
+ **2–3 years** in a managerial or leadership role (preferred)
+ Experience in Manufacturing / Rolling Stock industry is desirable

+ Process efficiency and cycle time reduction
**Work Environment**
+ Office and plant/site coordination
+ May require interaction with vendors, warehouses, and transportation partners
+ Occasional travel as required
