Supply Chain and Procurement Supervisor

Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Supply Chain Supervisor to oversee all procurement and supply chain functions within our manufacturing environment. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the purchasing team follows industry best practices, meets production schedules, and fulfills customer requirements. This role combines leadership with hands-on involvement, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily procurement operations, ensuring efficient workload distribution and alignment with manufacturing production needsLead, train, and mentor buyers to optimize sourcing and purchasing processes for raw materials, components, and servicesDevelop and execute team forecasts, integrating procurement strategies with manufacturing KPIs and production targetsBuild and maintain strategic supplier relationships, focusing on reliability, quality, and cost-effectivenessAnalyze commodity data to ensure supply chain resilience, including establishing backup suppliers for critical materialsImplement and improve supply chain processes to support lean manufacturing and cost-saving initiativesOversee open purchase orders, expediting, and vendor management to minimize production delaysResolve supplier and buyer issues, escalate as needed, and foster collaboration among cross-functional teamsChampion lean initiatives and best practices to enhance manufacturing efficiencyMaintain accurate and organized records for compliance and audit readiness

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related fieldStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on manufacturing supply chainsThorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies in a manufacturing contextExperience in a manufacturing environmentProficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)Background in rotating equipment or other industrial manufacturing environmentsPrior experience in fast-paced, unpredictable manufacturing or repair service settingsStrong initiative, “can do” attitude, and change agent mentality
