Maintain and deliver supplies needed for all surgery cases in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
ResponsibilitiesCommunicate effectively with Surgery, Instrumentation Systems, and S&D personnel by requesting, receiving, locating, and delivering needed supplies promptly and courteously.Inform staff of breaks in aseptic technique related to packaging and handling.Exhibit knowledge in functions of all shift responsibilities.Operate carousel, handheld computers, personal computers, and other inventory management tools.Utilize handheld device to order, restock, and maintain surgery and anesthesia inventory.Maintain prescribed inventory PAR levels on carousel and supply carts.Monitor the case cart and supply process for each surgical case.Check case cart against preference cards for completeness.Order identified missing items and place them on the cart or inform circulator/clinical supervisor before the start of the surgical procedure.Clean supply carts and bins according to the monthly assignment schedule.Coordinate the return of unused supply and instrumentation items.Remove unused or overstocked supplies and instrumentation from alcoves and carts in a timely manner.Return unused items to their proper storage location according to PAR levels.Rotate stock when returning or replenishing items.Support unit and hospital goals through PI and educational activities.Attend mandatory in-services and meet unit educational standards.Modify behaviors or performance to comply with care standards and unit requirements.Perform other duties as assigned by the Surgical Services Resources Manager.Exercise independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited, and standard policies or protocols have been established.Work with internal and external customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction.Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and staff.
Essential SkillsZero (0) to six (6) months of related experience.Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.Basic computer skills.
Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.
Work Environment
The work schedule is from 9 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
