Supplier Quality Supervisor

Eaton’s EPG CPD ICD Industrial Controls Division division is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Supervisor. 

What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION: 
Assure customer satisfaction through our Quality System; accountable for quality performance by monitoring Quality related metrics, conducting Quality Assessments. Making improvements in the quality procedures and develop innovations to improve productivity and reduce product costs.   Attain quality goals, assure quality plans are implemented and drive results accomplishment. Deploy the applicable EQS elements and initiatives of EBS to accomplish the established goals. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
1. Administer the plant supplier Quality program for internal and external suppliers, to maintain required purchased parts Supplier Quality levels for ICD Haina location. 
2. Responsible to establish and develop supplier quality process, cost out and process improvement projects to attain plant goals and improve the quality level.  
3. Responsible to conduct Supplier Quality Assessments (SQA’s) and follow up on the resulting corrective actions (CAR’s) or opportunities for improvements (OFI’s). 
4. Lead the Supplier Quality activities on any New Product Introductions and transfers as per the PROLaunch Project guidelines. 
5. Propose and implement improvements in the processes to guarantee the fulfillment of Supplier related to EQS Policies such as PR-5 Internal PPAP/FAI and PR-6 Supplierb Quality Management. 
6. Participate in Internal ISO 9001 audits to assure compliance of the ICD Haina Quality System and give follow up to the Supplier QA area findings and observations/Opportunities for improvement (OFI’s). 
7. Analyze the suppliers complaints (including metrics trends), assure that our suppliers develop containment and corrective action plan which are documented through WISPER; maintain the communication process between supplier, external and internal customers. 
8. Coordinate/Supervise the functions-task of the Quality Assistant for ICD Haina facility and provide guidance and coordination as required to the Supplier Quality Technician / Incoming Inspection Technicians on key supplier activities and priorities. 
9. Maintain Supplier Capability processes, according to EQS criteria. Require and follow up actions plans with the suppliers that are not in compliance.

10.Assure customer satisfaction through Supplier quality system, establishing, monitoring and maintenance in compliance with ISO9001 
11.Monitor and improve the metrics that impact Supplier Quality indicators such as: Warranty, Supplier Scrap (within the plants), Supplier Quality PPM, PPAP Cycle times, DMR metrics, Hold area inventory, etc. 
12.Ensured that processes needed for the quality management system are established, implemented, and maintained.

 

Responsibilities related to Health, Safety and Environment (EHS): 

1. Execute 100% of monthly safety inspection, in coordination with the MESH Coordinator. 
2. Assure that any vendor or material qualifications comply with established MESH Policies and Procedures  
3. Assist to all EHS training assigned. 
4. Promote and promulgate all MESH Process and Policies to all the employees under his/her supervisor and ensure that they are being performed at his/her area / manufacturing line. 
5. Provide all resources needed to ensure that all MESH policies and procedures all performed by his/her personal under his/her supervision.

Qualifications:

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: 
1. Bachelor’s degree on industrial, electrical or electromechanical engineering, or other related science.  
2. Minimum experience of 1-3 years in similar positions. 
3. Full Bilingual (English / Spanish) 
4. PC knowledge: Microsoft Office, Minitab, Access, and AS400. 
5. Knowledge: Lean Tools, 6 Sigma and SPC. 
6. ISO 9001 Internal Auditor (Lead Auditor is a plus) 
7. Pro-Launch tools (preferably)

Major or Unusual Problems:  
▪ Lack of knowledge of quality procedures or lack of training of employees working in production lines.  
▪ Maintain quality elements (materials, employees, work material, working method and inspection) within the tolerance levels indicated by the quality policy. 
▪ Get the involvement of the Manufacturing Department to follow the established process controls.  
▪ Customer services issues or production line downtime related to quality problems. 
▪ Customer Returns /Complaints due to Quality Issues (purchased parts rejections) 
▪ Provide Quality support to New or Transferred Product introductions according to business needs. 

External Contacts:  
▪ Puerto Rico Staff for advice on process improvements. 
▪ Tech Center employees for advice on design issues. 
▪ External contacts include Suppliers of raw materials, parts or services; Professional   Associations; Other Companies and Customers. 
▪ DNV/LL representative for ISO 9001 audit, CSA and UL. 
▪ External contractors 
▪ Contacts at other companies make Benchmarking possible. That allows us to see what and how other people are doing things, and to share ideas and new ways to improve our own business.

Principal Accountabilities:  
Quality Metrics improvement (PPM reduction, PPAP/FAI Cycle Time, DMR disposition cycle time, DMR CAR Closure cycle time). 
1. Compliance with ISO standards and policies of 9001 and EQS.  
2. Continuous reduction of parts per million, SCRAP. 
3. Efficiency program and optimization YIELD. 
4. Hold Area inventory.  
5. Identify Cost-Out opportunities. 
6. Avoid Warranty Incidents related to Supplier issues. 
7. Cero Accidents policy. 
8. Improve product and Process Quality through Quality Continual Improvement actions
