Supplier Quality Engineer
Job Title: Supplier Quality EngineerJob Description

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will identify improvement projects and manage cross-functional implementation to enhance supply chain performance. Your role will involve promoting the use of quality tools and continuous improvement techniques at suppliers to reduce variability, achieve process control, and improve the overall quality of processes and materials. Additionally, you will develop positive relationships and effective lines of communication with suppliers and train them to execute Supplier Corrective Action Requests and implement corrective/preventive actions effectively.

ResponsibilitiesIdentify and manage cross-functional improvement projects to enhance supply chain performance.Promote the use of quality tools and continuous improvement techniques at suppliers.Develop positive relationships and effective communication with suppliers.Train suppliers on executing Supplier Corrective Action Requests, Quality Alerts, and implementing corrective/preventive actions.Perform periodic audits and evaluate Supplier Quality Systems to ensure conformance to requirements.Collect and evaluate supplier quality data and performance metrics to manage the Supply Chain scorecard system.Recommend suppliers for qualification or disqualification based on quality performance.Collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value-enhanced opportunities.Ensure effective communication with Engineering, Operations, Quality Engineering, and Procurement to identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvements.Create corrective action plans and resolve identified issues with suppliers.Lead presentations on the status of active supplier quality issues.Provide effective training to suppliers and internal teams.Foster a positive, cooperative, and safe work environment through effective communication.Comply with all safety, quality, housekeeping, and company policies/procedures.Essential SkillsMinimum of a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering.Knowledge or experience in a manufacturing/testing environment, preferably in Aerospace.Knowledge of Circuit Card Assemblies inclusive of IPC J STD-001E/NASA standards.Understanding of machining and measurement processes and equipment.At least one year of experience in Quality, Design, or Manufacturing Engineering.Knowledge of special processes, AS9100 & ISO system standards, and system/process audits.Ability to interpret military, commercial aircraft, and space level specifications and standards.Experience with Lean concepts, variability analysis, SPC/process controls, and Six Sigma tools.Familiarity with measuring/inspection instruments like CMM and Vision System.Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.Must be a US Citizen.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in Supplier Quality field is preferred.Knowledge of P.O. review/approval, ESD, and FOD controls.Experience with performance metrics and System/Process audits.Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $100.00/hr.
