Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Engineer to manage and oversee the development and quality assurance processes of supplier parts throughout the new model cycle. This role requires a proactive approach to tracking part tooling development, evaluating Quality Assurance Notice documents, and providing solutions for process quality and design challenges.
Responsibilities
Track part tooling development, supplier status, and delays throughout the new model cycle for assigned suppliers.Request and manage the receipt of all Quality Assurance Notice (QAN) documents from suppliers to evaluate technical contents and request countermeasures as needed to achieve part approval.Complete new model Part by Part Reviews and Trial Event parts inspection, providing countermeasure solutions for process quality related defects and design challenges.Lead New Model Reviews (NMR) to confirm full Part Maturation of all parts prior to mass production and provide status updates with PQ management team.Provide analysis and recommendations to the Group Lead for preparation of New Model Evaluation reports to share concern items and countermeasure activities.Schedule onsite meetings with suppliers to review problem details and set plans for improvement.Work a flexible schedule including off-shifts and weekends as necessary.Work overtime as necessary to support department needs (short term and/or scheduled).Travel by ground/air to domestic and/or overseas supplier locations.Essential Skills
Experience in quality engineering and supplier quality.Proficiency in PPAP and TS16949 standards.Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical preferred).Minimum of 2 years of quality engineering or supplier quality experience within OEM plants.Experience with change management, RCCA troubleshooting, CMM experience, and supplier quality development tools.Ability to communicate effectively with various engineering disciplines internally and external suppliers.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience within automotive OEM globally.Work Environment
This position is situated within an automotive OEM assembly manufacturing environment. The work involves side-by-side collaboration with various engineering teams and requires flexibility in scheduling, including off-shifts and weekends. The role may necessitate travel to domestic and overseas supplier locations to ensure quality standards are met.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Timmonsville, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46/hr.
