Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Development & Performance Manager to join Legrand’s Electrical Wiring Systems (EWS) division.
The Supplier Development and Performance Manager is responsible for improving supplier capability, performance, cost competitiveness, and operational excellence. This role drives supplier performance management, VAVE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) initiatives, and Lean projects in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to achieve cost reduction, quality improvement, delivery reliability, and innovation.
The role acts as a key link between Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Suppliers to deliver sustainable value across the supply base. The role is remote and reports to the VP of Supply Chain and Sourcing.
Main Job Duties:
Supplier Performance Management
Define, implement, and manage supplier performance metrics (KPIs) covering quality, delivery, cost, service, and sustainabilityLead regular supplier performance reviews and corrective action plansIdentify underperforming suppliers and drive structured improvement programsSupport supplier segmentation and strategic supplier relationship management
Supplier Development
Assess supplier capabilities and maturity using audits and assessmentsDevelop and execute supplier development plans aligned with business objectivesLead cross-functional teams to improve supplier processes, capacity, quality, and reliabilitySupport onboarding and development of new suppliers
VAVE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering)
Lead and facilitate VAVE workshops with internal teams and suppliersIdentify cost reduction, design optimization, material substitution, and process improvement opportunitiesDrive implementation of approved VAVE ideas while maintaining or improving quality, performance, and complianceTrack, validate, and report VAVE savings and value creation
Lean Projects with Suppliers
Lead and support Lean initiatives (e.g., waste reduction, cycle time reduction, inventory optimization) across the supplier baseApply Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, SMED, and problem-solving methodologiesCoach suppliers in Lean principles and continuous improvement practicesEnsure improvements are sustainable and standardized
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Finance teamsSupport sourcing decisions with supplier performance and capability insightsContribute to make/buy decisions, localization initiatives, and risk mitigation strategies
Governance, Reporting & Compliance
Track and report supplier performance, improvement progress, cost savings, and benefits realizationEnsure supplier improvement activities align with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirementsSupport sustainability, ESG, and responsible sourcing initiatives

QualificationsEducation & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, business, or related field (or equivalent); Master’s degree or professional certifications (such as APICS) are a plusMinimum of 5 years in supplier development, procurement or supply chain, operations, and/or manufacturing.Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to in a manufacturing environment or companyStrong knowledge and experience in ERP/MRP systemsWorking knowledge of VAVE (value add/value engineering) principles and cost engineeringStrong collaboration, and negotiation skills and demonstrated success managing in a matrixed organizationAbility and comfortable working with data, KPIs, and performance dashboardsAbility to work in a fast-paced organization and balance multiple prioritiesStrong project management skills and ability to influence without authorityFamiliar with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologiesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work and lead teams
Travel
25% of traveling nationally and internationally is expected
