About the Opportunity 

This is an open position with Mon Power, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. (MP)

This position will be located in Morgantown, WV. 

Summary of Responsibilities:

This position is accountable for directing and supervising employees engaged in residential, commercial and industrial complex construction, maintenance, repair, testing and operation of meters and meter installations, as well as ensuring compliance with all Company, industry, regulatory and legal requirements. Duties will include the following: 

Demonstrating a solid commitment to all aspects of safety and drive safety performance of staff by providing the appropriate safety and accuracy training for new and existing personnel. Monitoring the activities of employees and enforcing conformance to established work practices and methods.  Implementing instruction and training of section employees in the established work practices and methods utilized throughout the department.  Maintaining appropriate levels of meter and metering-equipment inventory.  Coordinating work with Regional Engineering, Line, RDO, Customer Service and other departments, cities, municipalities, contractors and customers, to schedule construction and maintenance to repair or test work.  Working closely with section planner, Line department and Substation department to plan and scheduled work.  Working daily in various computer systems including customer request work scheduling (CREWS), real-time management system (FieldNet) and SAP to schedule work, look up customer and meter information and order inventory.  Monitoring and documenting work habits of employees, as well as counseling employees, recommending correct actions required to meet performance standards and acknowledging good work and good work habits.  Administering the Company and regional absenteeism management program and the regional safety plan.  Being available to work off-hours during storms, outages and call outs as needed.

Summary of Qualifications:

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.  Advanced level of knowledge and experience in operations, repair and construction of metering installations and applications.    Demonstrated ability to assume supervisory responsibilities, maintain an efficient working organization and have the ability to plan, organize, schedule and coordinate various aspects of the technical work involved. Knowledge of applied electricity to include AC and DC electrical circuits and equipment.  Knowledge of Company's preferred practices and methods and the construction standards relating to transmission and distribution (T&D) facilities.  Knowledge and understanding of the Company’s storm restoration process. Knowledge of the Company's general safety specifications and Accident Prevention Handbook.  Experience with or have the ability to learn various computer applications including CREWS, BRIO (data querying tool), PowerOn (power outage reporting system), GIS (geographic information system), Fieldnet, SAP , Lotus Notes (software program e-mail system) and Microsoft Office.    Demonstrated interpersonal skills, with excellent written and oral communications abilities.  Knowledge of union contracts and the ability to implement accordingly.  Must live or be willing to relocate within a 45-minute commute of the reporting location.
