This position is responsible for assisting the Manager/Director with department operations. As needed partners with nursing leader/s to assure environment is conducive to excellence in nursing practice. This includes supervision of personnel and projects as delegated, including but not limited to hiring, discipline and performance evaluations.
Responsibilites:
Supervises staff within perioperative servicesAssists in managing the day-to-day or shift-to-shift operationsFocuses on patients, team members, provider service requirements, and other customersActs as a role modelAssists with managing fiscal operations of the unitCollaborates with Nursing and Provider leadership to implement and evaluate standards of practice
Collects and analyzes quality data and utilizes process improvement methodology to insure deliver of safe and quality patient care
Demonstrates skills/abilities in provision of patient care within the periop environment
As needed, partners with clinical leaders to create an environment that advances evidence-based practice
Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served Fulfills all organizational requirementsFosters a culture of improvement, efficiency and innovative thinkingPerforms other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:
Perioperative experienceCurrent Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) licenseBasic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in NursingLeadership within Perioperative or another applicable clinical environmentAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
